I’ve been helping people navigate the financial services industry since 2007. I don’t like the industry and I don’t like finances. I’m really sick of the financial “services” industry and the long list of cons associated with it. Unfortunately understanding how it works and that it can work for you makes life a lot more peaceful, fun, and fulfilling. I truly wish that wasn’t the case, but it is.
Fortunately for me I learned early on that the industry is really about people much more than it is about the money or the many and ever-changing problems within it. I get an immense amount of satisfaction helping people simplify and streamline their financial lives to get the peace of mind that this industry does seem hell bent on trying to keep out of reach. I suppose in a backwards way my disdain for the industry is what makes me unique. I built a business within the industry that I really like and it turns out there are other people that like the way I do business too.
I don’t believe in sales or selling or creating problems that I conveniently have solutions for. As a top producer in past positions at some of the big national and international financial institutions this mindset was always problematic for my old managers and in sales training meetings (I have some cherished experiences). I believe everyone has enough on their plates and that helping people with those things will provide my family of 5 with what we need and more.
It’s supposed to be the financial services industry but it’s really a financial SALES industry.
When asked, I am happy to give insight after I’ve developed a level of trust where people believe my opinion is relevant and valuable and worth paying for.
We “unschool” our three kids and work remotely 3-6 months out of the year traveling the world. Home base is in Lantzville BC on Vancouver Island, Canada. I like building things and then enjoying them. Anything from businesses to relationships to a particular lifestyle to a type of mindset to our house or my Toyota 4x4 rockcrawler. I enjoy the process and challenge of taking ideas/thoughts and turning them into things that can be experienced in “real life”.
If I can help, let me know.
